My favourite class in service today is without doubt the 86s. Despite being well over 40 years old their no-nonsense design has held up remarkably well and being well looked after by Freightliner, they really don't look their age. Despite an inauspicious start in the 1960s they have proved to be one of the best designs bar none which BR turned out.
